-Explore Main Street shops & restaurants (Rochester Brunch House, Saint 1881 Coffee & Cocktail bar, Rochester Mills Beer Company, restaurant at the Royal Park Hotel (Park 600))
-Historic Yates Cider Mill is a short drive away
-Saturday farmers market in downtown Rochester at 415 E St (walkable from hotel)
-The Village of Rochester Hills is an outdoor shopping/dining center
-Innovation Hills is a great park for kids
Birmingham:
-Birmingham is another great downtown area appx 30 minutes from Rochester with restaurants, shops, and a scenic nature trail that we enjoy called the Linden Park and Quarton Lake Loop
-Cranbrook Home and Gardens is ~5min from Birmingham and is one of our favorite places to enjoy while we’re home! It’s free to enter and explore the beautiful grounds
For those in search of the Great Lakes:
- Lake St Clair is 45 minutes away from Rochester - Recommend a scenic drive along Lake Shore Drive in Grosse Pointe
- There’s a public beach Lake Saint Claire Metropark if you fancy a dip!
- Visit the historic Edsel and Eleanor Ford House while you’re out there!
Downtown Detroit:
-We love visiting the Eastern Market, which is one of the oldest and largest year-round markets in the US
-Campus Martius is a nice area to stroll around
-Great restaurants & bars
-Detroit riverwalk
-Detroit Institute of Arts (DIA)
